Cities of Learning partners facilitated a blended learning course on building a digital youth work strategy. You can benefit from our 10 years of expertise in facilitating digital transformation in the youth work and NFE fields.

The course organisers will provide additional on-site or online activities to participants from Curaçao, Lithuania, the Netherlands, and Slovenia.


Highlights of this online training activity:

  • Self-paced online course with an opportunity to meet and learn from the Digital Youth Work experts and Cities of Learning partners
  • Focuses on developing digital youth work strategies and practices in youth work and non-formal education;
  • Certified training: The Cities of Learning Network will offer opportunities for course participants to assess, validate, and recognise learning.
  • Digitally friendly: The training and learning methodology and activities include digital tools, platforms, and Open Badges.
  • Although the initial phase will be brief, the course offers opportunities for long-term involvement in the Cities of Learning Network activities in the follow-up.
  • Endorsed by the broad partnership of Cities of Learning members.

This course is for people who are:
  • Youth work managers
  • Youth workers* and non-formal educators
  • Group leaders in youth projects
  • Trainers, facilitators and educators

Age: from 18 years.
Language: A sufficient level of English is necessary to participate in this course.

*A Youth worker works with young people in various non-formal and informal learning contexts, typically focusing on young people's personal and social development through one-on-one relationships and group-based activities.


Digital credentials and certification

This training activity is a unique opportunity for participants to use up-to-date and digital recognition solutions, such as digital Open Badges (more about badges here).
A badge certificate will be awarded to participants who complete 60% of the training programme activities (e.g., attending online workshops and completing badge tasks).

This badge certificate is awarded to people who engaged with the content and online activities offered during the Cities of Learning blended course to advance their expertise in building unique digital youth work strategies guided by a systemic approach to facilitate digital transformation.
Through the course activities, the badge earner could explore at their choice the following topics: 1) Digital Youth Work Competencies; 2) Infrastructure for Digital Youth Work; 3) Innovative Working Culture; 4) Leadership in Digital Transformation; 5) Digital Youth Work Quality Assessment. These capacity development areas are aligned with the digital youth work assessment tools developed by the Digital Youth Work Strategic Cooperation between National Agencies.
The blended course included interactive online workshops with valuable expert inputs. Course participants also had access to self-paced activities to transfer their learning and advance their organisations' digital youth work strategy and practice. Total course duration, depending on the learner's involvement, was 15 to 20 hours.
This course was part of the "Digital Systemic" Erasmus+ co-funded project.
